Conference on patterns of use in China in Paris (June 2014)

Category : Non classé

This conference organised by the OHIM June 20, 2014, with the assistance of the INPI had intended to introduce the system of patents in China. Three Directors of the SIPO presented the legal system Chinese patent and the procedures of filing and examination of patents and utility models.

The CNCPI was represented by our colleagues Olivier Nicolle (IPON GLOBAL) and Sylvain Taylor (REGIMBEAU). They made a comparative presentation of the patent systems French and Chinese, with a focus on the problem of Chinese utility models.

This conference helped to better publicize Chinese utility models which French companies do not practice since on the almost 900 000 utility models filed in China in 2013 under 200 are of French origin.

About 40 people attended this conference, mainly specialists in IP industry and some lawyers ICC as well as members of the INPI and the OHIM. Many questions following the presentations showed the particular interest of professionals on this Chinese patent system in full expansion.
